 The myth of white prophet was performed by a visting chief, Olowitinappi, from the Cartii region of Kuna Yala, in the Mulatuppu gathering house. Kuna chiefs perform chants in the evening to an audience of gathered men and women. White prophet was performe d on such an occasion. The chant opens with a metacommunicative description of the event. It is then followed by a series of episodes in which the white prophet visits different levels of the Kuna afterworld and counsel s the Kuna on how to behave in this world so that they are treated well in the afterworld. The language of the chant is esoteric. It is interpreted afterwards by chief spokesman from Mulatuppu, Armando. The chant is ratified verse by verse by a responding chief, Lanni, from Mulatuppu...
