Description:		Sixto talks about the one time, when he was very young and still lived with the Tiniguas, that he was building a canoe. Sixto was all by himself in the forest for one or two weeks, and no one came to see him, eventhough everybody knew where he was. He decided then to throw the canoe onto the water and leave with a group of Guayabero that had come upriver and were on their way back to San José del Guaviare. This was the time when he left the Tiniguas./Sixto cuenta sobre la vez, cuando estaba joven, que decidió irse del lado de los Tiniguas. Estaba construyendo una canoa en medio de la selva, y después de una o dos semanas, nadie venía a visitarlo. Decidió entonces echar la canoa al agua e irse con un grupo de Guayabero que había subido por el río y que iban de regreso hacia San José del Guaviare. Esta fue la vez que Sixto se desprendió de los Tiniguas.
		Tinigua [ISO 639-3:tit] is the last surviving member of an independent South American Tiniguan family whose other (two?) members have disappeared without substantial documentation; with only one remaining speaker, it is now critically endangered. Additionally, the language is seriously underdocumented and underdescribed. This project aims to provide a linguistic documentation of Tinigua through work with Sixto Muñoz, its last remaining speaker. The expected outcomes of this project are a transcribed, translated and annotated audio-visual corpus of the language, a grammatical description, and a lexicon. Additionally, I aim to gather further historical and cultural data on the Tiniguan culture.
