| Description: | This session features the tradition Nin won nyi (lit. breaking of things). It is normally performed shortly after a burial. One newly made pot is used to put some of the belongings of the deceased.The pot is supposed to be decorated with red paintings, others tie things to the pot. The pot is then carried by a man who is a direct heir to the deceased. Once the pot is thrown outside the compound, people will quickly run away in order to not catch anything of the spirit of the deceased. In this session the people are not fully organised or agreeing on how to perform this tradition. Also they are not using a clay pot but a modern rubber bucket. | |
