Description:This session contains a short description of Ekadasi Mela - a traditional festival. Two native speakers discuss the process and main features of Ekadasi Mela. Tok Man asked Mina Baram to describe the happenings during this Mela. Ekadasi is a fasting festival celebrated in the Kattik month. People go to take a bath early in the morning and everybody makes the sheds during the day time and stays there. They cross the river with the flowers. Only one person can’t do it, therefore more people are required to cross the river. After this, they light the wick in the evening. Some also perform the worship of Lord Narayan. People eat 'Sama', an edible plant during the fast, maize and yam. After coming to the Shiva temple, they complete the fasting worship.
