Description:Mrs. Panmati Baram is the speaker in this recording. She tells about the Nwangi festival, and about how the leaf-plates and leaf-cups are prepared. These activities take place in a temple called Maithan. People stay there overnight and make a lot of lamps. Some people sing the local songs, some dance and others sing devotional songs, all the while drinking liquor and eating bread. When the priest arrives, early in the morning, he gives the people a mixture of five liquids. With this act the festival comes to an end.
