Coverage:Brazil
Date:2001-07-08
Description:ENGLISH: Explanation about a supernatural entity, the so-called "Woman from the Woods", which is considered dangerous (she chases people and make them sick). The video was shot in the village where the Trumai speaker lives (a note: unfortunately the input for external microphone of the video camera got damaged during the field work, and as a result of that the video got a hiss on the background. However, it is perfectly possible to understand what the Trumai speaker says).
The purpose of the project is to document Trumai, a genetically isolate language spoken in Brazil. The archive consists of a collection of texts in the language, plus other kinds of materials relative to the Trumai culture, such as photos, drawings, songs, educational materials, etc.
