Description:The chambak gives blessings to family member and affinal relatives on the second day of the Wadhangmi festival.
The objective of the offering is to bless the affinal relatives.
The language used is Chintang ritual language, a particular register of ancestral speech.
The chambak invited the team to record this session in his house and courtyard.
Dr. Gaenszle is the researcher in charge of ethnography
Netra Prasad Paudyal is the linguistic Research Assistant for the Chintang project.
He is member of the Tuprihang clan. Like his younger brother BBR he is a Chambak, i.e. a tribal shaman, who goes into trance during certain occasion.
