| Description: | The filming took place in the village centre, starting in the early evening around 7:30 p.m. Several Awetí, especially men and a few young women, were present. Most men stayed awake all night at the occasion. There are one video and three audio recordings to this session. | |
| This project aims at the documentation of the Awet� Language, a tupian language of a small speech community in central Brazil. It is funded for 2000/2001 by the VolkswagenStiftung in the Documentation of Endangered Languages Programme. The principal researcher, Sebastian Drude, initianted his research among the Awet� in 1998. | ||
| The principal objective of the video recording was to capture the lunar eclipse, whereas the audio recording aimed at capturing the conversation going on in the village centre during the event. | ||
