| Description: | Monday 28th August 2006. Court Case 4, part II. Case 4: Robbery at the school. All the utensils for domestic science classroom stolen by boy from Wulanga called Wéni (in red sleeveless shirt). He accused three others of being complicit, but they deny it. The magistrates tried to browbeat the others into confessing, but they don’t. This turns out to be the longest case. To test whether Wéni’s story about picking up the others by his canoe could work, they put them all in it – it alsmost sank! (see session r06_v21) Otherwise his testimony convincing, and the defence of the others was feeble. Continued from session r06_v19, and continues onto r06_v21 and r06_v22. *This Court Case is the fourth out of 5 Cases on 28th of August: an ‘open forum’ in presence of Philip Wéni, Rossel chief government officer at Tagula headquarters. All day proceedings, fairly full record on videotape. Cases run over tapes. | |
