| Description: | ENGLISH: Trumai individuals go for a trip in the Xingu River and find an enormous fish dead in a beach. Apparently, the fish died because it swallowed another one and got stuck with it, becoming suffocated. The Trumai women and girls pull the fish into a dry area and explore it (although the fish is a little smelly, and partially eaten by animals). The video was taped by a Trumai young man. It also shows aspects of a beach of the Xingu river during the dry season. ----- PORTUGUÊS: Pessoas Trumai fazem uma viagem pelo Rio Xingu e encontram um peixe enorme morto em uma praia. Aparentemente, o peixe morreu porque engoliu outro peixe e engasgou, sufocando. As mulheres e crianças Trumai puxam o peixe para uma área seca e o exploram (embora o peixe já esteja cheirando, tendo sido também parcialmente comido por animais). | The purpose of the project is to document Trumai, a genetically isolate language spoken in Brazil. The archive consists of a collection of texts in the language, plus other kinds of materials relative to the Trumai culture, such as photos, drawings, songs, educational materials, etc. | ||
