North Marquesan was the main language used throughout the session with short intermissions of French. Apart from Ta also his wife was present during the recording. | ||
Apart from his mother tongue North Marquesan, Ta is fluent in French and Tahitian. He used to be a school teacher on 'Ua Pou and was one of the few during the 1930s to receive a further school education on Tahiti. Ta and his wife have been the host of many researcher on the Marquesas. In the 1970s he closely worked together with H. Lavondès to translate legends and narratives into French. | ||
