| Description: | In this session the consultant shows and explains the old tohua (=public place) of the princess Vaekehu who reigned during the early contact period with the Europeans. On the same tohua we see the "stones of courtship" for couples to get accustomed to each other before marriage. | |
| The project documents several different aspects of the Marquesan culture (legends, narratives, food preparation, plant medicine, fishing techniques, Marquesan trick languages, songs, dances etc.) | ||
| Tau only knows little French. He lives in Hakau'i where there is no electricity, in a small community of around 10 people. Tau used to work for the parish before his retirement. | ||
