		The aim of the project is to provide people from various backgrounds (speakers and their political representatives, developers of educational material, NGO’s, language planners, linguists and anthropologists) with a database of the Yurakaré language that can serve a variety of purposes, even purposes we do not foresee at this moment. The database aims in the first place at documenting the Yurakaré language in all its diversity, but it will also include data that give an idea of the context of the language: personal histories, illustrations of everyday practices, Yurakaré testimonies about their own situation and the challenges they are facing today. In this manner we want to build a database that not only includes linguistic material, but that also tries to embed these data in the larger context of the current Yurakaré society.
		El proyecto tiene por objetivo proporcionar una base de datos del idioma yurakaré que corresponda a las necesidades de una variedad de personas (hablantes y sus representantes políticos, pedagogos responsables de producción de material escolar, ONG's, lingüistas, antropólogos) y que sirva a varias funciones, académicas o no, incluso funciones que no prevemos en este momento. Si la base de datos está en primer lugar dirigida a documentar el idioma yurakaré en su diversidad, incorpora también datos contextuales, testimonios, ilustraciones de prácticas cotidianas, discursos de los yurakaré acerca de su propia situación y de los desafío que viven hoy en día, proporcionando así una documentación que incluye el material lingüístico en el mundo vivido actual de los yurakaré.

		MA is talking about his life. When he was very little, his mother died. His father married another woman, and he took little MA often for journeys to other villages. They also came to San Pablo, where they stayed. MA got sick, and his leg stayed lame. Then, MA married his wife, and his children were born. To them, he distributed his chocolate plantations, so that they won't fight.
		MA está hablando sobre su vida. Cuando era muy chico todavía, su madre murió. Su padre se casó con otra mujer, y a menudo llevaba al chico a viajar a otras comunidades. En estos viajes, llegaron a San Pablo, donde se quedaron. MA se enfermó, y su pierna se quedó inmovilizada para siempre. Después, Maximo se casó y nacieron sus hijos. 		AL is the main collaborator and consultant of Sonja Gipper. She has an important role in the village, because she is a health promotor, so she sells medicine, can sew wounds, etc. Her father is one of the first people who came to the village as a kid, and he is one of the most important people in the village. AL is very interested in working on her native language and its preservation.

		Sonja Gipper is the field researcher who collected this material. She is working as a PhD student in the Yurakaré project. This session was filmed during her first field trip.

		MA is one of the elders in the village of San Pablo. He is one of the main consultants of Sonja Gipper. He still knows some things about the old traditions, but does not practice them anymore. He is the father of AL, another important consultant.
