| Goal of this project is to get a clear view of the command of Sarnami and/or Sranan of primary school children of Suriname origin and to study their command of Dutch. | ||
| The task is to retell a story about a boy and his football. Together the boy and his ball go to a football competition in the park. Unfortunately the boy and his team do not win. After the match he stops to order a fries. He puts his ball in the truck of a car. The car rides off. Fortunately, it stops for a pedestrian crossing where the boy takes his ball back and goes home. | ||
| Dorian de Haan is the coordinator/collector of this project. She is of Dutch origin. She works at the University of Utrecht, The Netherlands, at the Developmental Psychology department. | ||
| Jennifer is of Suriname Creole origin, and was born in Suriname. She moved to the Netherlands at the age of 2.5. She arrived there by boat. She has a younger brother, Jason. At home with her mother she speaks Sranan and Dutch. Her command of Dutch is better than that of Sranan, she says. She prefers to speak Sranan. Her best friend is Naomi (Dutch). She takes the bus to school. She is in the last form of primary school. Same girl as in 25A, 47T, 55D & 56A. | ||
