Description:Recording took place during primary school hours (08:30 AM-03:30 PM) at a primary school in a separate classroom. Recording was done by Dorian de Haan between 1984-1986. A conversation with Dorian de Haan and a child.
Goal of this project is to get a clear view of the command of Sarnami and/or Sranan of primary school children of Suriname origin and to study their command of Dutch.
For this task the child needs to read a short article and has to answer questions about it. Dorian de Haan talks about the short article with the child. The topics are: - agriculture - how people used to live - The Golden Age - industrializing, migration to urban centers - growth of The Hague
Dorian de Haan is the coordinator/collector of this project. She is of Dutch origin. She works at the University of Utrecht, The Netherlands, at the Developmental Psychology department.
Diana is of Dutch origin. She is in the last form of primary school. Same girl as in 43E.
