| Goal of this project is to get a clear view of the command of Sarnami and/or Sranan of primary school children of Suriname origin and to study their command of Dutch. | ||
| For this task the child needs to read a short article and has to answer questions about it. Dorian de Haan talks about the short article with the child. The topics are: - agriculture - how people used to live - The Golden Age - industrializing, migration to urban centers - growth of The Hague | ||
| Dorian de Haan is the coordinator/collector of this project. She is of Dutch origin. She works at the University of Utrecht, The Netherlands, at the Developmental Psychology department. | ||
| Henk is of Sarnami Hindustani origin. He was born in Suriname and moved in 1975 to the Netherlands when he was 3. He has a younger brother. He speaks Dutch and Sarnami and understands Sranan. At home he speaks Sarnami. He prefers to speak Sarnami. He sees himself as Surinamese. He is Islamic, and he follows an English language course. Same boy as in 3D, 3E, 8A, 18M, 24A, 30B & 32B. | ||
