Description:ENGLISH: These are the answers provided by a Trumai speaker for the questionnaire on "Event Integration", organized by Jürgen Bohnemeyer [Bohnemeyer, J. 1999. A Questionnaire on Event Integration. In: Manual for the 1999 Field Season. Nijmegen, Holland: Language and Cognition Group, Max Planck Institute for Psycholinguistics]. The purpose of the elicitation was to investigate the issues of "motion", "caused change state", and "transfer". The questionnaire was not meant to be a mere "translation" questionnaire, but rather to present a series of examples or scenarios illustrating the points to be investigated. For the elicitation with the Trumai speaker, some adaptations were made in the examples (to match better the reality of the consultant). The data was obtained in October, 1999. A Questionnaire on Event Integration. In: Manual for the 1999 Field Season. Nijmegen, Holland: Language and Cognition Group, Max Planck Institute for Psycholinguistics].
The purpose of the project is to document Trumai, a genetically isolate language spoken in Brazil. The archive consists of a collection of texts in the language, plus other kinds of materials relative to the Trumai culture, such as photos, drawings, songs, educational materials, etc.
The researcher worked with a Trumai consultant, obtaining data about the topic under investigation.
The examples are in Trumai. They are all translated into English.
The data was provided by Speaker2.
