Description:This corpus collects German sign language (DGS) data. For this project, native, early, and late DGS signers were recorded performing different tasks (narratives of short picture stories/cartoon clips) and engaging in free conversation. These recordings and their annotations are stored in this corpus.
NSG_CR1: Sylvester is dressed up as a bellboy and takes a suitcase and a cage from a room to take downstairs. NSG - CR2: Sylvester throws away the suitcase and carries the (covered) cage down the stairs, outside. NSG - CR3: Sylvester grabs Tweety from his cage on his way by the window; he hits the seesaw coming down. NSG - CR4: Sylvester runs away with Tweety. NSG - CR5: Sylvester gets on a windowsill to swing over to Tweety on a rope; he smacks into the wall right next to Tweety's window.
UZ is a male native signer who recruited the participants in Aachen and recorded them.
AF is a male native DGS signer.
RG is a male early DGS signer. He was born deaf but started signing DGS at the age of 5 in kindergarten.
