Description:This corpus collects German sign language (DGS) data. For this project, native, early, and late DGS signers were recorded performing different tasks (narratives of short picture stories/cartoon clips) and engaging in free conversation. These recordings and their annotations are stored in this corpus.
GTA: The give&take stimuli consist of short clips in which 2 persons are filmed from the side, facing each other, with a third person standing between them, facing the camera. Each clip shows one person giving an object to or taking an object from a second person. The give or take actions either involve the two persons on the side facing each other, or one person from the side and the person in the middle. The person that is not involved in the action does not respond. The objects that were used in these clips are a flower, a lightbulb and a book.
UZ is a male native signer who recruited the participants in Aachen and recorded them.
MS is a female early DGS signer. She is originally from Poland, and learned DGS around the age of 7. She also knows Polish Sign Language.
CF is a female early/native DGS signer. She turned deaf at 2 years of age, and learned DGS from that age on.
