Description: | This is a talk among three participants in Chintang. The whole talk is concentrated on a family matters. We wanted to record some conversational texts in a natural setting. The recording was done in the veranda of a home in Chintang. | |
KM describes about her and her family. She also describes the situation of Chintang when she was young. She compares the present situation with the past one. Asha and Nisha also introduce themselves and describe the present situation of Chintang. | ||
Chintang is the dominant language that is used throughout this session. There are very few words borrowed from Nepali and Bantawa into this text. | ||
KM, Asha and Nisha are the three participants in the session. NP plays the role of collector and annotator both in this session. | ||
Nisha Rai works as a speaker. She is a highschool level student. She was born and brought up in Chintang. Both of her parents are Chintang. She has never left the area for more than six months. | ||
I completed Masters Degree in Linguistics from Tribhuvan University, and currently working as a Research Assistant in the (DOBES) project. I am in charge of Linguistic works and analysis. | ||
Krishna Maya Rai works as a consultant, but also helps to establish and organize new contacts. She was born in Chintang and also grew up there. She has never left the area for more than two months. She is the grandmother of Suraya Walung Rai. | ||
Asha Rai works as a consultant. She is a college level student. She was born and brought up in Chintang. Both her parents are Chintang. | ||
