| The aim of the project is to provide a rich linguistic and ethnographic documentation of two highly endangered but almost totally undocumented languages in eastern Nepal, Chintang and Puma. These languages belong to the Kiranti family of Tibeto-Burman. Chintang is spoken by the Chintang Rai in Chintang Village Development Committee (VDC) of Dhankuta district. Puma is spoken by the Puma Rai in Diplung, Mauwabote and Pauwasera VDCs, to the south of Khotang bazar in Khotang district. Both these districts are situated in the eastern hilly part of the country. | ||
| This is a cultural event. It is mixed up with Nepal and Bantawa language. | ||
| The whole session is in Chintang. However, there are very few lexical items borrowed from Nepali as well. | ||
| Netra is the collector and Gaya and Netra B. Rai are the participants of this session. | ||
| I completed Masters Degree in Linguistics from Tribhuvan University, and currently working as a Research Assistant in the (DOBES) project. I am in charge of Linguistic works and analysis. | ||
| She was born and brought up in Chintang, Mulgaun. Both she and her parents have Chintang as their first native language, she has never left the area for long time. | ||
| Netra Bahadur Rai was born and brought up in Chintang. Both of his parents are native Chintang. | ||
