Description: | This is the worship for Borrowed deity, which is natively known as Daijemang. The Daijemang is taken form the woman after her marriage. Its permanent altar is fixed in the other house if there is another house. If not, it is fixed outside the house. | |
This is the ritual which consists of ritual language and offerings. The main characteristics of the ritual language is binomials, constructing these with two limbs. | ||
This is a chant in the ritual language used by Chintang ritual experts. Its characterized by binomials which are different from ordinary language nouns. | ||
The collector was IR and he was informed by one of the members of the house. Battima (BTR) was priest and perfomed this worship. Ban Bir (BBR) was knowledgeable elder and chanted the mundum language. Ras Man Rai (RSR) helped in this worship for performing the worship. | ||
He is member of the Tuprihang clan. Like his elder brother BhB he is a Chambak, i.e. a tribal shaman, who goes into trance during certain occasion. In this worship, he performs as the knowledgeable elder and chants the mundum language. | ||
She is young but performs as a priest because this is the deity for her mother. So, she must perform the worship as being the priest. This is the tradition of the Daijemang. She performs the worship according to knowledgeable elder's advice. | ||
