Description:The Rajdeu is the important ritual. It is first worshipped and then worshipped others. Rajdeu is taken as a step son of the Budhohang. The Budhohang was a great king. Without worshipping the Rajdeu deity, no other deity is worshipped. That is why it is given more attention.
It is the worship of Rajedeo, the holy ancestral worship of Chintang Rai with chanting mundhum by Wattong.
This is a chant in the ritual language used by Chintang ritual experts. Its characterized by binomials which are different from ordinary language nouns.
Collector (IR) was informed about the ritual and went there and recorded it. The householder called Lakh Man (LMR) was priest and worshipped. Bal Bahadur (BBS) was called to perform as a knowledgeable elder so he chanted the mundum for this worship.
He belongs to Sangpang. Sanpang is not the proto-clan of Chintang. Sangpang came to Chintang from Simpani, a village of Khotang, where Sangpang Rai settled originally. In Chintang they came with their mother because mother belonged to the Chintang clan called Dalahang. He works as an knowledgeable elder among Chintang. He performs varieties of worship and chants the mundum.
He is lawer by profession. He is not knoledgeable in ritual but performs as a priest in worshipping the god of house. He performs whatever the knowledgeable elder advise him.
Ichchha Purna is the RA for the study of ethnography of Chintang
