Description:		Kîmbêkpâpî village dispute – mediation by Pweeghaa, Max Mgaa. Councillor Daniel Kwéli present. The case concerns the two families of John Weta (son ‘Naalum) and his ZS Moses ‘N:aakê (son Tootoo) and his dead BS Yââvyi. The sequence of events was: 1. Jan 2008 – Yââvyi runs amok an cuts down bananas and coconuts in a rage. e is sentence to one month’s hard labour, which he fails to perform. 2. ‘N:aalum as Peace Officer (PO) told him to continue last Sunday. Yââvyi tells PO he has backing of John Lêmonga, Patrick Tâânki et al, and tells ‘N:aakê that the PO blames ‘N:aakê. 3. ‘N:aakê confronts PO, ‘Naalum’s B Ghaakpê flies into a rage with an axe. ‘N:aalum accuses ‘N:aakê of not fixing the problem with his loose D, who is sleeping with Nkal’s S Pindi (‘Nââkê W = Nkal’s Z). ‘N:aakê says he will never set foot in Kîmbêvyuwo again at his uncles’ John Weta’s place. 4. Later ‘N:aakê and son Tootoo try to make peace, but ‘Naalum slaps Tootoo, and Labuda and brother start shouting. Feelings during the meeting run high: Weta almost crying, and ‘Naake too. But Yââvyi deeply blamed. The outcome is Yââvyi is resentenced to 3 weeks hard labour, and John Weta has to give ndap to ‘N:aakê because ‘N:aalum was rude to him.

		Yélî Dnye is a "Papuan" language, i.e. non-Austronesian. It is an isolate - not known to be related to any other language. It is spoken only on Rossel Island.
