Description:We arrived at about 8.30 am, and this is a reasonably complete record of the whole yey, or post mortem accusation session, including thumping of the bereaved. It was very well attended by members of the deceased’s Njé clan from Yonga, Abeleti, Saman, as well as local people. Speakers included Luke Nêpa, Kostka and brothers Nduu and PhilipWéni, Teyoo from Yonga and many others. 31.5 minutes only. Dubbed for transcription in field

Yélî Dnye is a "Papuan" language, i.e. non-Austronesian. It is an isolate - not known to be related to any other language. It is spoken only on Rossel Island.
