| The aim of the project is to provide a rich linguistic and ethnographic documentation of two highly endangered but almost totally undocumented languages in eastern Nepal, Chintang and Puma. These languages belong to the Kiranti family of Tibeto-Burman. Chintang is spoken by the Chintang Rai in Chintang Village Development Committee (VDC) of Dhankuta district. Puma is spoken by the Puma Rai in Diplung, Mauwabote and Pauwasera VDCs, to the south of Khotang bazar in Khotang district. | In this session, the narrator tells the myth of Sumnima and her marriage with Paruhang. The interesting events that happened in their marriage process are described in detail. | ||
| The speaker in this session is the pure Puma native speaker. So in this recording, it is used the Puma language with some additional speaking of the Bantawa in some situation. | ||
| PBR is well known Puma who is very good to tell the Puma stories and myths. So the Puma team met him and requested to tell the stories. | ||
