| The aim of the project is to provide a rich linguistic and ethnographic documentation of two highly endangered but almost totally undocumented languages in eastern Nepal, Chintang and Puma. These languages belong to the Kiranti family of Tibeto-Burman. Chintang is spoken by the Chintang Rai in Chintang Village Development Committee (VDC) of Dhankuta district. Puma is spoken by the Puma Rai in Diplung, Mauwabote and Pauwasera VDCs, to the south of Khotang bazar in Khotang district. | In this session, Kalpana washes clothes and later she takes a plant of a chilli and play with it. She follows the cocks. | ||
| The conversation is in Chintang language in general. | ||
| Kalpana is our target child, Anita and Mekh Bahadur is her parents, Ganga Maya is is her grandmother, Prithvi is her elder brother, Puspa is their neighbour and our local informant. Goma is the collector and the annotator of this session. | ||
| Kalpana is the youngest child of her parents. She has three elder siblings. She is the daughter of Kamala's father's younger brother. | ||
| Anita Rai is the mother of the child, Kalpana. She is a housewife and a farmer. Sometimes she goes to work in others' farming field on wage. | ||
| He is the father of Kalpana. He has four children. He loves his children very much. He is a farmer and a porter as well. He is also the younger brother of Kamala's father. | ||
| Prithvi Narayan is the elder brother of Kalpana. He is also called Perte and Pecce. He is the only one son in his family. He sometimes goes to school with his elder siblings. He is Kamala's father's younger brother's son. | ||
| She is the mother of Kamala's father. She lives in Chintang only during the festivals. Otherwise she lives in Dhankuta headquater with her youngest son. | ||
| Puspa is the neighbour of all our target children in Chintang. She is our local assistant as well. She has passed class 10. | ||
