Description:This is the 3rd session of the 9th monthly recording cycle of the child Man Kumar for the Child Language Development study.
The aim of the project is to provide a rich linguistic and ethnographic documentation of two highly endangered but almost totally undocumented languages in eastern Nepal, Chintang and Puma. These languages belong to the Kiranti family of Tibeto-Burman. Chintang is spoken by the Chintang Rai in Chintang Village Development Committee (VDC) of Dhankuta district. Puma is spoken by the Puma Rai in Diplung, Mauwabote, Devisthan and Pauwasera VDCs, to the south of Khotang bazar in Khotang district. Man Kumar and Bisal (Kuluke) tries to dig sweet potatoes but they cannot find. They runs here and there. They throw stones downwards. Quite some other children are around. They play with a plank which they use as a slide. They are having ild play with a piece of clothes. There is lots of running around and shouting.
The conversation is in Chintang language in general.
Man Kumar is the target child, Indra, Ilu, Laxman are his siblings, Bishal is his best friend, Puspa is their neighbour and our local informant, Goma is the collector and the annotator of this session.

Man Kumar is one the target children in our recording. He is the fifth child of his parents. He has 6 siblings. The child is very active, most of the time he plays with children.
He is also called Kuluke. He is the intimate friend of Man Kumar. He goes to school. He reads in class 1.
Puspa is the neighbour of all our target children in Chintang. She is our local assistant as well. She has passed class 10.
Laxman is the youngest brother of Man Kumar. He is one of the twins.
Indra Kumari is the elder sister of the child, Man Kumar. She is the fourth child of her parents. She is a student. She reads in class 1.
Ilu is the elder sister of Man Kumar. She is the third child of her parents. She is a student. She reads in class 3. She is also a daughter of Saphal's mother's elder sister.
