Description:This is the fourth session of second recording cycle of the child Man Kumar in the Child Language Development study.
The aim of the project is to provide a rich linguistic and ethnographic documentation of two highly endangered but almost totally undocumented languages in eastern Nepal, Chintang and Puma. These languages belong to the Kiranti family of Tibeto-Burman. Chintang is spoken by the Chintang Rai in Chintang Village Development Committee (VDC) of Dhankuta district. Puma is spoken by the Puma Rai in Diplung, Mauwabote and Pauwasera VDCs, to the south of Khotang bazar in Khotang district. Man Kumar is the target child, Ganga is his mother, Purna Maya is his grandmother (mother's mother), Ilu and Indra are his elder siblings, Madan is his cousin and Goma is the collector and the annotator of this session.
Ilu is also called Mansu. She is the elder sister of Man Kumar. She is also a daughter of Saphal's mother's elder sister. She is the third child of her parents. She is a student. She reads in class 3. She helps her parents taking care of her younger siblings and in their household works.
Indra Kumari is called 'Bhotu' by her family members and by some neighbours. the elder sister of the child, Man Kumar. She is the fourth child of her parents. She is also a daughter of Saphal's mother's elder sister. She is a student. She reads in class 1.
Ganga Kumari is the mother of the child4, Man Kumar. She has altogether 7 children. She is a housewife and a farmer. She is known as 'Jamlema mainli' in the village. She is Lengmuk and married to Puma.

He is the son of Man Kumar's mother's younger sister. He lives in his materanal home and his mother and elder ssiteer also live in the same home. He is a student. He reads in class 2.
Man Kumar is called 'Mote' and 'Maĩla'. He is one the target children in our recording. He is the fifth child of his parents. He has 6 siblings. The child is very active, most of the time he plays with children.
Purna Maya Rai is the grandmother (mother's mother) of Man Kumar Rai. Her house is about 250 mitres away from Man Kumar's house. She is Sangpang and married to Lengmuk Rai, a clan of Bantatwa
