Description:This is the 7th session of the 9th monthly recording cycle of the child Kalpana for the Child Language Development study.
The aim of the project is to provide a rich linguistic and ethnographic documentation of two highly endangered but almost totally undocumented languages in eastern Nepal, Chintang and Puma. These languages belong to the Kiranti family of Tibeto-Burman. Chintang is spoken by the Chintang Rai in Chintang Village Development Committee (VDC) of Dhankuta district. Puma is spoken by the Puma Rai in Diplung, Mauwabote, Devisthan and Pauwasera VDCs, to the south of Khotang bazar in Khotang district. Kalpana eats noodles. Her father makes Ranjana and Prithvi cut nails. Kalpana, elder sister and father are on the veranda. Her father cuts the nails of the elder girl. Kalpana eats a snack. Father cuts nail of other girl. All the children get treated in a row.

Kalpana is the youngest child of her parents. She has three elder siblings. She is the daughter of Kamala's father's younger brother.
Samjhana is the eldest sister of Kalpana. She is a student. She is reading in class 3. She helps her parents in the household works also.
Ranjana is the elder sister of Kalpana. She is also called Ranje. She is the second child of her parents. She is a student. She reads in class 1. She caretakes her sister Kalpana in her mother's absence. She is also the daughter of Kamala's father's younger brother.

Puspa is the neighbour of all our target children in Chintang. She is our local assistant as well. She has passed class 10.
He is the father of Kalpana. He has four children. He loves his children very much. He is a farmer and a porter as well. He is also the younger brother of Kamala's father.
Sujan is the child of the eldest daughter of Kamala's grandfather's (father's father) younger brother.
