| The aim of the project is to provide a rich linguistic and ethnographic documentation of two highly endangered but almost totally undocumented languages in eastern Nepal, Chintang and Puma. These languages belong to the Kiranti family of Tibeto-Burman. Chintang is spoken by the Chintang Rai in Chintang Village Development Committee (VDC) of Dhankuta district. Puma is spoken by the Puma Rai in Diplung, Mauwabote and Pauwasera VDCs, to the south of Khotang bazar in Khotang district. | Children including Kamala play with bamboo stripes. They play or pretend cooking. Their grandfather is preparing a big bamboo basket which is used for carrying water vessel, grass, firewood and so on. | In this session, most of the utterances are in Chintang and only a few utterances are in Nepali language. | ||
| In this session Kamala and Kalpana are our target children. Phulmaya is Kamala's mother, Man Bhakta is their grandfather (father's father), Ashu and Krishna are elder sisters of Kamala and Harkimaya is Kamala's grandmother (mother's mother). Goma is the collector and the annotator. | ||
| Kalpana is the youngest child of her parents. She has three elder siblings. She is the daughter of Kamala's father's younger brother. | ||
| Prithvi Narayan is the elder brother of Kalpana. He is also called Perte and Pecce. He is the only one son in his family. He sometimes goes to school with his elder siblings. He is Kamala's father's younger brother's son. | ||
| Man Bhakta is the father of Kamala's and Kalpana's father. Most often he stays in Dhankuta with his youngest son. | ||

| Phul Maya Rai is the mother of our target child, Kamala Rai. She has 6 daughters. She is a housewife and a farmer as well. She is from Khukkhang clan but married to Sangpang. | ||

| Krishna Kumari is the elder sister of Kamala Rai. She is the third child of her parents. She is a student. She reads in class 2. | ||
