This corpus concerns Turkish homesign data recorded in Istanbul in 2000-2005 / early. Each deaf child has been recorded 6 or 7 times over a period of approximately a year. Each hearing child has been recorded 1 or 2 times. The Play Sessions were designed to collect spontaneous communication data from deaf and hearing children. The communication partner was either the child's mother or an experimenter. Various toy figures, puzzles as well as books - Frog Story, Scarry Book - were used as stimuli in these sessions. Children were prompted to take converse about these stimuli and often asked to identify objects, puzzle pieces etc. For this Play Session: Child plays with puzzles together with mother, sister and experimenter; Child plays with potatoman and toys together with sister; Child plays with toys, frog story, scarry book, toys, puzzles and ball together with sister, mother and experimenter.
EA is the recorder of the sessions. During these sessions EA and BuS sometimes switch.
OG is a female Turkish homesigner child.
BuS is the experimenter of the sessions. She gives instructions and plays with the child. During these sessions BuS and EA sometimes switch.
