Description:Number stimuli: Signer describes a picture with 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 or more objects in it to the addressee, who in turn points the described picture out on an addressee sheet. This sheet displays 20 pictures. The target picture may or not may be on the sheet. The number stimuli consist of three sets.The screen goes black while the signer describes it to the addressee. The addressee chooses the correct picture and shows it to the camera. The addresee does not see the screen.
This corpus collects Turkish sign language TID data from children and also their parents. For this project, TID signers were recorded performing different tasks narratives of short picture stories/cartoon clips and engaging in free conversation. These recordings and their annotations are stored in this corpus.
MMir was born Deaf. Her parents are not Deaf. She has siblings and they use Turkish Sign Language. She is married to a Deaf man. She has a daughter who is also Deaf. MMir does not work.
Mir was born Deaf. Her parents are Deaf. Her grandparents are not Deaf. She has a CI and attending a primary school for the hearing. She has also been attending a rehebalitation center twice a week since she was 4. She does not have any brothers or sisters. It is reported that she is using her left hand while signing and brushing her teeth, but uses right hand while writing.
Hukumran is a hearing person. He is a fluent signer. He prentended to be deaf in the experiments. He checked the order of tasks and gave instructions when necessary.
Beyza is a hearing person. She recorded the sessions and conducted the experiments. She mainly used TID and tried not to use speech.
Sevinc is a native Deaf signer. She was born in 1974. She has both Deaf parents. She has finished a high school for the hearing and attened to Eskisehir Integreation Center for the Deaf, but she quitted it. She is an active member of the Deaf community. She knows some other sign languages.
