| Description: | The signer looks at the computer screen and sees a movie. Then the screen goes black and the signer is supposed to narrate the event to the addressee. There are 35 movies about caused motion events. | |
| This corpus collects Turkish sign language TID data from children and also their parents. For this project, TID signers were recorded performing different tasks narratives of short picture stories/cartoon clips and engaging in free conversation. These recordings and their annotations are stored in this corpus. | ||
| Hukumran is a hearing person. He is a fluent signer. He prentended to be deaf in the experiments. He checked the order of tasks and gave instructions when necessary. | ||
| Beyza is a hearing person. She recorded the sessions and conducted the experiments. She mainly used TID and tried not to use speech. | ||
| She was born deaf. She has deaf parents and a deaf sister. She started signing from birth. She is a high school graduate. She attended a primary school for the deaf and the high school for the hearing. She used to have wide connections with the deaf communtiy in Istanbul before she got married. Now she mainly stays at home and doesnt work. Her grandparents are hearing (both from mother and from father). She uses her right hand to sign. | ||
| FBerke is Deaf but he has hearing parents. He knows and actively uses Turkish Sign Language. He works in an environment where there are mostly hearing people. | ||
