Description:The signer looks at the computer screen and sees 4 pictures, one of which has a red frame. The signer is supposed to describe the picture with the red frame. The addressee has a folder including sheets with the same 4 pictures seen on the computer screen. The addressee is supposed to choose and show the picture being described to her/him to the camera. The addressee does not see the screen. There are 13 pictures. She did the first version of the task. She did not do the second version that includes 24 pictures. She has missing data on this task.
This corpus collects Turkish sign language TID data from children and also their parents. For this project, TID signers were recorded performing different tasks narratives of short picture stories/cartoon clips and engaging in free conversation. These recordings and their annotations are stored in this corpus.
Hukumran is a hearing person. He is a fluent signer. He prentended to be deaf in the experiments. He checked the order of tasks and gave instructions when necessary.
Beyza is a hearing person. She recorded the sessions and conducted the experiments. She mainly used TID and tried not to use speech.
Emir's father was born deaf. He has hearing parents and siblings. He is married to a deaf woman whose parents are also hearing. He has two deaf children, both of whom are boys.
She was born deaf. She has deaf parents and a deaf sister. She started signing from birth. She is a high school graduate. She attended a primary school for the deaf and the high school for the hearing. She used to have wide connections with the deaf communtiy in Istanbul before she got married. Now she mainly stays at home and doesnt work. Her grandparents are hearing (both from mother and from father). She uses her right hand to sign.
