The aim of this project is to further document and analyse the Chintang language. Chintang is spoken by some 4000 to 5000 Rai in the Chhintang Village Development Committee (VDC), which is located in the hills of Dhankuta district (Eastern Nepal). The project builds upon results of the Chintang and Puma Documentation Project (CPDP), which ended in 2009.
The language Bharat Lal Rai and his family use most in daily conversation is Bantawa.
