| Description: | Kris and Daud are doing the Tangram Task. Recordings were made with two video cameras and two head-mounted microphones, outdoors, in a fairly quiet environment. The recording was interrupted for synchronisation purposes after ca. 10 minutes. The session thus consists of two recordings, the first one contains cards 1-14 (counting down; 1, 20, 19...), the second one 13-2 (also counting down). No warm-up, but Daud watched Nelson and Edi doing the task before. KW had done the same taks with different pictures 6 months before in Papuan Malay. | |
| Yali is a Trans-New Guinea language, belonging to the Dani subgroup. It is spoken in the highland area east of Wamena. The data within this corpus comes from two sources: Most of the data consists of recordings made during the project phase of the Volkwagen sponsored "Summits" project. These comprise data from two Yali dialects, Apahapsili-Yali and Angguruk-Yali. However, this corpus also contains old recorings made by the German missionary Siegfried Zöllner, who has been working in the Angguruk area since the early 1960ies. These recordings have been digitized and (re-) transcribed within this project. | ||
| This task was developed as part of the "Prosodic and gestural entrainment" project (PAGE). The basic goal is to engage participants in a collaborative task, using both verbal and gestural means. | ||
| TGB_Kris_Daud_1-14_I contains Kris (Summits), TGB_Kris_Daud_1-14_II contains Daud (Students). Nelson and Edi, who have done the task before, are also present. | ||
