| Description: | Beni and Heri are doing the Tangram Task. Both speakers watched their friends Jean and Sheila, and Andre and Igo doing the task before. Recordings were made with two video cameras and two head-mounted microphones, indoors, in a fairly quiet environment. The recording was interrupted for synchronisation purposes after ca. 10 minutes. The session thus consists of two recordings, the first one contains cards 1-14, the second one 15-20. | |
| This corpus manly (with few exceptions) consists of recordings made with students from the State University Manokwari (UNIPA). Speakers come from different areas in Papua (and Eastern Indonesia) and the varieties they speak, as well as their competence in Papuan Malay vary strongly. All recordings were made during the funding period of the Volkswagen project "Documentation Summits in the Central Mountains of Papua". | ||
| This task was developed as part of the "Prosodic and gestural entrainment" project (PAGE). The basic goal is to engage participants in a collaborative task, using both verbal and gestural means. | ||
| The video file TGB_Beni_Heri_1-14_I contains Beni (students), TGB_Beni_Heri_15-20_II contains Heri (summits). | ||
| Beni was born in Serui, both his parents are Ambai. Beni himself only has a passive knowlede of Ambai but speaks Papuan Malay and Indonesian. | ||
| Heri was born in Manokwari, his parents are both Maybrat. Heri doesn't speak any Maybrat but Papuan Malay and Indonesian. | ||
