The recording was interrupted for synchronisation purposes after ca. 10 minutes. | Mpur is a non-Austronesian language spoken by approximately 5000 speakers in the northern area of the Bird's Head in West Papua, Indonesia (cf. Odé 2002). It is considered to be language isolate (Ethnologue 2013). The data within this corpus was collected and processed by Boas Wabia, a native speaker of Mpur who graduated from the State Uninversity of Papua in Manokwari with an B.A. in English language and literature. Wabia's fieldwork was funded by the Volkswagen Foundation, within the project "Documentation Summits in the Central Mountains of Papua". | ||
| This task was developed as part of the "Prosodic and gestural entrainment" project (PAGE). The basic goal is to engage participants in a collaborative task, using both verbal and gestural means. | ||
