Description:Videorecordings of one female early NGT signer and one female late NGT signer engaging in free conversation about writing an article.
Logbook. Location: The recordings are at the house of S115. The first part is in the garden in the afternoon. The second part is inside the house. The latest recorded part is after dinner. S115 and S116 asked for a filmstop while dinning. After dinner S115 and S116 are writing an article for a magazine. They are discussing and set up the article behind the laptop. The subject of conversation between S115 and S116 is about an event and the article they will write about it. It is the kind of work they do. S115 and S116 already filled in the background- and permission documents. Technical information: The light changes during the recordings, because it started late in the afternoon (about 4:30 PM) and ended in the evening (about 9 PM). And because of the different locations of recordings (outside in the garden and inside in the house). The duration of the recordings is about 4 hours. The part where S115 and S116 sit behind the laptop was a bit difficult to record. I had to install the camera at a high position to make the hands and arms of S115 and S116 visible behind the laptop. Observation sign skills: S115 and S116 use sign language in a correct way, but spoken Dutch is present too. It's a combination of sign, articulation of speech without voice, sign-supported speech or speech-supported sign. Factors which could influence their sign behavior: - S115 and S116 do know I want to record sign language; - S115 and S116 are writing an article in Dutch, they have to discuss about how to formulate that article in Dutch language.
