Description:		ENGLISH: Myth about the supernatural entity named 'Ayanu', which has big ears and kills human beings. The Sun and the Moon decide to avenge the death of their ancestors by killing all the Ayanus. The myth was narrated by a Trumai storyteller in 1989. Although the quality of the recording is not good, it was preserved because its content is important. This myth was recorded again in 1993, in a slightly different version. ----- PORTUGUÊS: Mito sobre o Ayanu, ser sobrenatural que tem orelhas grandes e que mata gente. O Sul e o Lua decidem vingar a morte de seus ancestrais, matando todos os Ayanus. O mito foi narrado por um Trumai já idoso em 1989. Embora a qualidade de gravação não seja boa, foi preservada porque o conteúdo é importante. Esse mito foi gravado novamente em 1993, em uma versão um pouco diferente.
		The purpose of the project is to document Trumai, a genetically isolate language spoken in Brazil. The archive consists of a collection of texts in the language, plus other kinds of materials relative to the Trumai culture, such as photos, drawings, songs, educational materials, etc.
		The Trumai storyteller talks in Trumai. In the background, there is sometimes some conversation in Trumai.
		Speaker1 was a native speaker of Trumai. He was considered the best storyteller of the Trumai people. He was also an expert in ritual chants, being very respected by other Xinguan groups. He had knowledge about medicinal plants and roots, and shamanism practices. He was old (above 70) when the died in 1995.
