Description:The Makú numbered about 200 in 1826. Located in the upper Uraricuéra River (Territorio Federal de Roraima, Brazil). In 1959 there were only three speakers left (one man, 45, his sister, 50, and his younger sister, 35). They lived in the lower Uraricuéra River with the Makushi (Carib) in the village of Bu9uerao. By 1990 the last Makú speakers were all dead.
Los maku numeron alrededor 200 en 1826. Ubicaron en el Río Uraricuéro alto (Territorio Federal de Roraima, Brasíl). En 1959 hubo solamente tres hablantes (un hombre de 45 años, su hermana mayor de 50 años, y su hermana menor de 35. Ellos vivieron al Río Uraricuéra baja con los Makushi (Carib) en el pueblo de Bu9uerao. Por 1990, los últimos hablantes se murieron.
