| Goal of this project is to get a clear view of the command of Sarnami and/or Sranan of primary school children of Suriname origin and to study their command of Dutch. | ||
| Two pictures are shown to the child and she has to explain in what way they are similar. Additionally, the girl has to explain to Dorian de Haan the meaning of given words. | ||
| Dorian de Haan is the coordinator/collector of this project. She is of Dutch origin. She works at the University of Utrecht, The Netherlands, at the Developmental Psychology department. | ||
| Barbara is of Suriname Creole origin. She is born in the Netherlands. She speaks both Dutch and Sranan, however she speaks more Dutch. When she speaks Dutch she has a strong Amsterdam accent. According to herself her Sranan is broken Sranan. She finds her Sranan vocabulary too small, though she reads religious prayers and songs in Sranan. She doesn’t speak Sarnami. She has been in Suriname for a holiday. She is in the last form of primary school. She is friends with Sybille. She doesn’t really play with Dutch children. Same girl as in 32A, 44H, 46D & 46E. | ||
