Description:Notebook containing corrected transcriptions of the Washo texts, told by John Frank, that are transcribed for the first time in 2014-21.003.039, with glosses in English. The texts include “Prayer: Big Time”, “gumsabáʔy for acorn and deer meat”, “gumsabáʔy for white food and Indian food together”, “Creation Tale”, “Explanation of a phrase used by an old Washo doctor”, “Trip to Washington D.C. of Capt. Jim and Dick Bender, 1888”, “Prophecies of Monkey Peter”, and “How humans got hands like lizard, not coyote; the story of píteliʔ and géwe” (unfinished). Notes regarding English translations, vocabulary, and ethnographic details associated with the texts are located in 2014-21.003.041; in-progress research notes on the texts are located in 2014-21.004.020, 2014-21.004.021, and 2014-21.004.022; and an associated sound recording is in 2014-21.006.002. The notebook belonged to Brooke Mordy; William H. Jacobsen is noted as a collaborator.
