Description:This item contains 1 audio file with corresponding transcript and video file, as well as 2 images. Fasawr Awasi conducts a coconut interview with Rusein Aniba in Nen language. Ruscien gives an account of how her coconut tree came to be no more. The story is recorded in front of the stump of what was once a full-grown coconut tree. First told in Nambo, then in Nen. She also discusses her competence in other languages of the region. Coconut interviews are a particular genre of interaction in which participants talk about coconut trees that have special signifigance or memories associated with them.
