Ruscien gives an account of how her coconut tree came to be no more. The story is recorded in front of the stump of what was once a full-grown coconut tree. First told in Nambo, then in Nen. She also discusses her competence in other languages of the region. Coconut interviews are a particular genre of interaction in which participants talk about coconut trees that have special signifigance or memories associated with them.
