In the town of Mixtepec, legend tells of a Evergreen tree that grew very tall. The tree was so tall that when it rained, its top touched the clouds. From this originated the Mixtepec name, “Xini Viko” or “Xnuviko”, which means “there in the clouds” or “where the clouds come down”.
