Description:The traditional song , sung by two men who trade lines back and forth, and a larger group who provide a refrain. Song addressed to a woman named Toondo (the daughter of Doya, and the wife of Muna). The singer asks for a pot of food to be prepared. A host of other people names and cryptic references are given: someone from the house of Bee/a is disabled, someone else is compared to a porcupine, and a family is referred to as a branding iron of strangers’ cattle || Wimbo wa unayoitwa , unaoimbwa na wanaume wawili wanaopeana nafasi, na kundi kubwa zaidi wanaopokea. Wimbo unaimbwa kwa mwanamke yenye jina la Toondo (binti wa Doya, na mke wa Muna). Mwimbaji anaomba chungu cha chakula kiandaliwe. Majina ya watu wengi wanatajwa, na inayeimbwa haijulikani vizuri: mtu wa nyumba ya Bee/a anakuwa mlemavu, mtu mwingine alilinganishwa na nungunungu, na familia moja inaitwa chapa cha ng’ombe za watu wageni || Links: 20180707_PBc; 20180827_PBd; 20181001_PBg || For any use of this single material, or of a small number of materials from the larger deposit, please include the following credit lines: 1.
