Description:In this video, Kasaon explains the role of the mestewool in the initiation process. He describes the mestewool as the prefect of the pre-initiates. His role is to mobilize the potential initiates and move with them from home to home collecting more boys and urging them to join the troupe as they sing around the village. His role ends when he hands over the collected boys to the muthirioth who will be responsible for them during circumcision and after.
