Description:The Terik are mainly peasant farmers who keep livestock and grow crops for subsistence. They value environmental; conservation activities such as maintaining their indigenous forest areas and rivers for because these are significant resources in the initiation process. For instance, the sinendet grows in the bushes along the rivers hence the need to preserve these areas. Marriage is a respected institution and the young Terik men are expected to marry soon after initiation to guarantee continuity.
