| Description: | Jan Peleng narrates the traditional story of the 'Putri Korioh'. This story is judged to have originally occurred close to the town of Air Madidi in Minahasa, North Sulawesi. It tells of a palm sugar collector who befriends and eventually marries a women who is able to shift her form to that of a bird. They are married and have children together. However, in the end she yearns to be free and flies off. Video recorded on a Canon Legria HF R606. MTS format has been converted to MP4 using Handbrake. Audio recorded on a Zoom H4n in .WAV format with a Rode Lavalier microphone. The original stero .WAV file has been converted to mono using the Audacity program. This bundle includes an ELAN project (.eaf) file with baseline transcription, morpheme-by-morpheme glossing, and free translation in English. | |
